Two Teaching Assistant posts (Grade 5) one for 25 hours, one for 17.92 hours and OPAL (midday supervisor) (Grade 2) both five hours

The governors of St Peter’s Catholic Primary School are seeking to appoint two Teaching Assistants, both with OPAL (formerly midday supervisor). St Peter’s is a good school with some outstanding features and we have high aspirations for every child to be a successful learner. We are looking for two inspiring TAs to join our committed TA and OPAL teams. Experience of successfully supporting pupil learning is desirable. Successful candidates will have an understanding of and empathy with the Catholic ethos of our school.
 
Post one - to support the learning needs of a Y3 pupil on a one to one basis or in a small group situation. This is for 25 hours per week. 
 
Post two – to support the learning needs of a Y2 pupil on a one to one basis or in a small group situation. This is for 17hours and 55 minutes per week.
 
Both posts are part time fixed term contracts, to be reviewed in term 6 linked to meeting the needs of the individual children. Both posts have OPAL (midday supervisor), grade 2, for five hours per week from 12:30pm to 1:30pm.
 
Applicants must have successfully completed the NVQ Level 3 as a minimum qualification or have an equivalent qualification. 
 
We are looking for Teaching Assistants and OPAL Play Team who are:

  • Highly motivated and able to inspire and motivate children to learn and achieve
  • Able to use their own initiative to support pupil learning
  • Able to develop children’s social skills over lunchtime

OPAL PLAY TEAM post (formerly Midday Supervisor)

Grade 2 (pts 2-3) £18,198 - £18,562 per annum per annum pro rata 

approximately £9.43 - £9.62 per hour

 
We are seeking to appoint a Play Team to join our hard working and dedicated staff.  The post is part-time permanent, subject to a 6 months probationary period. 
 
The days and hours of work are Monday – Friday inclusive, term time only, 12.30pm – 1.30pm.
